These policies are drafted for Asetos Computers' website, online shop, repair intake process, invoices and customer communications. They are intended to be read together. Nothing in these policies removes any consumer right that cannot be excluded under South African law.
1. Standard product warranty
Unless stated otherwise, refurbished computers, replacement parts and selected products sold by Asetos Computers carry a 6-month warranty.
Some products may carry a different warranty period if stated on the product page, quotation or invoice.
2. Repair warranty
Repairs carry a 3-month warranty on the specific repaired fault, installed part and related labour, unless a longer period is confirmed in writing.
3. What the warranty covers
The warranty covers confirmed faults in the item, supplied part or repair work that fall within the warranty scope.
The item must be returned to Asetos Computers for inspection and testing before any warranty remedy is approved.
4. Warranty remedies
For warranty claims after the cooling-off period, the first option is repair where the law allows.
If repair is not possible, not economical or fails, Asetos Computers may replace the item with the same or a similar item of equal or similar specification.
A refund is considered only where repair and replacement are not possible, have failed, or where the law requires a refund.
5. Warranty exclusions
The warranty does not cover misuse or abuse, liquid damage, physical damage, cracked screens, broken hinges or covers, power surge, overheating caused by dust or blocked vents, customer damage, unauthorised repairs, tampering, software problems, viruses or malware, operating-system corruption, deleted data, password or BitLocker issues, customer-installed parts or upgrades, compatibility issues not confirmed in writing, consumable wear and tear, normal battery degradation, faults disclosed before sale, cosmetic wear on refurbished or used products, or faults unrelated to the original repair or supplied product.
6. Customer responsibilities
Customers must use products normally and according to their intended purpose.
Customers must keep proof of purchase, avoid tampering, protect devices from liquid and physical damage, and report warranty issues promptly within the warranty period.
7. No warranty abuse
Warranty cover is not a free upgrade, trial period or replacement plan.
Asetos Computers may reject warranty claims where the item has been abused, altered, damaged, used outside normal conditions, opened, tampered with, password-locked, returned incomplete, or used in a way inconsistent with the product condition or intended purpose.
