This is the four-port A2251, the better of the two 13-inch MacBook Pros Apple shipped in 2020, and it is in excellent Grade A condition. The 13.3-inch Retina display runs 2560 by 1600 at 500 nits with wide colour P3 and True Tone, so photographs, spreadsheets and long documents all look the way they should. A quad-core 10th-generation Core i5 turbos to 3.8GHz, 16GB of fast LPDDR4X keeps a full browser honest, and a 1TB SSD means you are not managing storage from day one. This is also the generation that brought back the scissor Magic Keyboard and the physical Escape key, so the sticky butterfly keyboards are behind it, and four Thunderbolt 3 ports charge the machine, drive external displays and move data at speed from either side. It has road ahead of it too: Apple lists this model as compatible with macOS Tahoe 26, a free upgrade from the Sequoia 15.8 it is running.
There is a second reason to want this particular machine. Its 16GB of memory sits comfortably above the 8GB that local AI runtimes ask for, so it will run small language models on its own processor through Ollama, with no cloud subscription and no API key once a model is downloaded. Models in the 1 to 4 billion parameter class, such as Llama 3.2 3B or Phi-3 Mini, are the sweet spot here; a quantised 7B will load and run, more slowly. It also meets the documented requirements for the OpenClaw gateway, the open-source self-hosted AI assistant, installed from the command line, which is the dependable route on an Intel Mac. This is the class of machine we run our own in-house assistant, Hermes, on in the shop. Ollama and OpenClaw are independent open-source projects, not installed, configured or supported by us.

Payment & Ownership
Orders are processed once payment reflects in our account (standard 24-hour processing). Same bank payments to our listed bank account normally reflect immediately; PayFast/Payflex may take up to 48 hours. Ownership of goods remains with Asetos Computers until full payment has cleared.
Shipping, Delivery & Collection
We deliver across South Africa via third-party couriers; delivery times are estimates only. Collection is available from Shop G15, The Zone @ Rosebank, 177 Oxford Road, Rosebank. If you arrange your own courier, risk passes to you on collection. Report any transit damage within 24 hours and keep all packaging.
Warranty
Unless stated otherwise, replacement parts and refurbished devices carry a 6-month warranty; repair jobs carry a 3-month warranty on the specific repaired fault, part and labour. The warranty covers defects in workmanship and supplied parts, but excludes misuse, liquid/physical damage, power surges, unauthorised repairs, software issues, wear and tear and customer-supplied parts. Used/refurbished/graded items may show cosmetic signs of prior use; condition is disclosed where possible.
Returns, Refunds & Exchanges
Contact us before returning any item. Valid warranty claims are handled per the warranty and South African law. For change-of-mind / wrong-item returns, the item must be unused, complete and unopened; a handling/restocking fee of up to 15% may apply, and shipping is for the customer's account. Approved refunds are processed within 30 days, regardless of any cooling-off period.
Cooling-Off (Online Orders)
Where the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies, you may cancel certain online orders within 7 days of delivery and return the goods complete (return cost may be for your account). This does not apply to special-order, installed, opened or custom items, or goods that cannot be returned by their nature.
Repairs
Asetos Computers is an independent repairer and not an authorised repair centre for major manufacturers. Back up your data and keep passwords/BitLocker keys available before booking in. A standard assessment fee of R345 may apply (often waived if you proceed with the repair). Work begins only after written approval.
